Getting Started
Students are encouraged to start planning your term abroad at least 18 months in advance. Our programs open one year and one term before the study abroad program begins. This will give you plenty of time to think over your options. Think about what you would like to gain from your new experience by considering the following:

  • What academic credits do you need? We recommend speaking with your academic advisor to make sure you stay on track.
  • How long do you wish to stay overseas?
  • Have you thought about participating in a co-op term abroad?
  • Do you wish to study at one of our German partners or do you have another destination in mind?

Understand Your Options
Educate yourself on the options that are available to you:
  • Use the program search tool to research the options available to you.
  • The Office of International Programs provides information sessions. Schedules for these sessions will be displayed in the announcements section.
  • Visit our office to talk to a Study Abroad coordinator.
Once you have considered these options, you are already on your way to your study abroad experience!
