Language and Culture in Taiwan

Participants on this trip are immersed in Chinese language (Mandarin) in the exciting city of Taichung, Taiwan. Students will have 30 hours of intensive language class, focusing on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and activities. You will be attend on one Taiwan's top universities for Languages and Engineering where you will have the opportunity to mix with domestic and international students and practice your Chinese!

This program is open to all Kettering students, regardless of degree program. If you are taking Chinese 101 or Chinese 102 then taking this program will replace your final exam. You will be rewarded 2 credits for participation and submitting a journal about your time in Taiwan, the other 2 credits will come from your contribution and homework within class at Kettering. If you are not taking any Chinese class at Kettering, your credit will be applied as Independent Study towards 2 credits of a Free Elective.

Graduate students may attend, but will not be able to receive credit

The two week study abroad program begins June 21st and ends July 5th, 2020, (during summer break) and is led by Kettering University and hosted by Taichung University and the Consortium for Study Abroad in Taiwan and Fulbright. 

Cost is $1595, this includes all tuition, transfers, tours and accommodation on campus. Students are responsible for their own flights, meals and any additional tours/excursions they wish to take.
