FAQ's for International Students

Are international students eligible for a study abroad program?
All Kettering University students are provided with an opportunity to study abroad. You would be required to research visa requirements for your chosen program but the International Office will assist with any documentation you may need to assist with the process.

Do I need a valid F1 Visa for re-entry into the U.S.?
You must obey the rules and regulations of your visa so you do not violate your status. You must have a valid F1 visa in order to return to the U.S, so please speak with our International Student Coordinator, David Hamilton, for further information. Remember to keep all your I-20's with you, along with your I-94. In addition to this, you must have valid travel signatures on your I-20 signed within the last 6 months. It is your responsibility to make sure that your paperwork is up to date and complete, as you are ultimately accountable for all required immigration papers and requirements.

Do I need a visa, or transit visa in order to study abroad?
You would be required to research visa requirements for your chosen program, but the International Programs Office will assist with any documentation you may need to assist with the process. We suggest that international students contact the appropriate embassy to double check visa requirements.
